Amid the crisis in the Royal Family, Prince Harry would regret the controversial statements about Kate Middleton in his memoir “What’s Left” (2023), according to royal expert Tessa Dunlop.
In an interview with US Weekly, Dunlop, who also recently released a book about the royals, said Middleton’s cancer diagnosis put Harry in an uncomfortable position.
“When you find out that your sister-in-law has cancer and you’ve written things that can’t be erased, you end up in a very painful situation,” he said.
Dunlop also cited the influence of Meghan Markle, Harry’s wife, in increasing tensions with the royals.
“They deliberately criticize the monarchy and offer themselves as an alternative to it. So when the monarchy is in crisis, we kind of need to make that comparison. Can Harry and Meghan set themselves up as examples of care now?”, he asked.
The expert also warned the couple to be cautious with future announcements. “They will need to be cautious with any announcements so as not to appear as if they are being opportunistic,” she said.
It is worth remembering that King Charles III is also undergoing treatment for a tumor. Like Kate, he did not reveal which organ was affected by the disease.
