“I’m Pedro, I’m nine years old and I want to be Roland Garros champion”, said the young man. Pedro participated in some challenges led by Teliana Pereira and, in one of them — a kind of target shooting —, he was one of the only ones to hit cans of tennis balls, leaving everyone with their mouths open.
The trust is not for nothing, according to uncle Alexandre Pato, who is married to Rebeca Abravanel. The football player praised his nephew and sees a promising future in tennis.
Pedro plays tennis very well, he is one of the promises [do Brasil]… It’s not because he’s my nephew, but that’s what I tell him [sobre o potencial]. I feel like he really has a gift, he takes after his father Fábio and, God willing, we’ll be at Roland Garros watching him play.

“He’s very good, he’s only 9 years old, and he’s training, he’s dedicated, he’s very focused, he only talks about tennis. It’s like when I was 4, 5, 9, 10 years old, I only thought about football. Sometimes, His parents even have to help him at mealtimes, for example. I hope he has a long life in tennis, he’s going to be a great tennis player,” added Pato, who highlighted that his nephew is already sponsored by Wilson.

Alexandre Pato has always been a fan of tennis, but got closer to the sport during the coronavirus pandemic, between 2020 and 2021. The striker revealed that he almost wanted to leave football when he found a world beyond the four lines.
