The three largest regional providers operating in Rio Grande do Sul (RS) – Brasil Tecpar, Vero and Unifique – announced this Wednesday, 8th, a protocol for sharing technical teams for repair and maintenance of their networks. The measure is part of a set of actions that providers are taking as a group in response to the state of calamity in the municipalities served.

“This will enable companies to optimize their efforts to reach locations in need of repair, which has been a challenge in recent days, given the blockages in risk areas,” the providers detail in an open letter.

The statement explains that “the protocol does not imply any other type of cooperation or commercial or strategic coordination between companies, being focused only on repairs and maintenance of networks, while the state of calamity lasts”.

Unifique CEO, Fabiano Busnardo, current leader of Associação Neo, added to the Tele.Synthesis that “the objective of the partnership is to join forces to repair the damage caused by the climate condition as quickly as possible, so that people can have communication reestablished”.

Gustavo Stock, CEO of Brasil TecPar, highlights that the three companies have almost 600 thousand customers in the state and “cooperation becomes essential in times of crisis”. “There are places where we compete and the cables of the three companies are broken, because they were in the same infrastructure. The planned action is a commitment to the population”, said Stock.

Flávio Rossini, director of Corporate Affairs at Vero, adds that a scheme is being implemented to exchange information between teams, with the possibility of cooperation also in the event of the need to exchange cables or other equipment. “We will act during the state of calamity to allow the networks to continue operating”, guarantees Rossini.

Together, the companies had around 29,800 unconnected customers as of this Monday, the 7th. With the cooperation agreement, the expectation is to speed up the process wherever possible.
