Rede D’or and Bradesco create new network of hospitals; Ecorodovias approves dividends

This Thursday’s corporate radar (9) shows the distribution of earnings from Ecorodovias (ECOR3). Furthermore, Rede D’Or (RDOR3) and Atlântica, from Bradesco Seguros, are creating a new network of hospitals together.

In the balance sheet season, BB (BBAS3) has a profit of R$9.3 billion in the 1st quarter and approves R$2.6 billion in dividends and JCP. Eletrobras (ELET6) made a profit of R$331 million in the first quarter, an annual drop of 19%. Lojas Renner (LREN3) records a profit of R$139.3 million, an increase of 197.6%. Copel (CPLE6) profits R$533.5 million in the first quarter, a drop of 16%. Arezzo (ARZZ3) has recurring profits of R$78.7 million in the first quarter, an increase of 7.7%. Casas Bahia (BHIA3) has a loss of R$261 million in the 1st quarter, a figure 12.2% lower. Minerva ended the first quarter with a loss of R$186 million. PetroReconcavo (RECV3) profits R$ 110.3 million in the first quarter, a drop of 45%. MRV Incorporação has a net profit of R$54 million with increased margins. Totvs (TOTS3) has an increase of 18.3% in adjusted profit for the 1st quarter, reaching R$ 141.3 million.

Ecorodovias (ECOR3)

Ecorodovias (ECOR3) approved the payment of dividends for the 2023 fiscal year in the amount of R$135.3 million, equivalent to R$0.19446148469 per common share.

Shareholders holding shares at the end of May 13, 2024 will be entitled to dividends, and from May 14, 2024, the shares will be traded “ex-dividends”. Payment will be made from July 29, 2024.

Rede D´Or (RDOR3) and Bradesco (BBDC4)

Rede D’Or (RDOR3) reached an agreement with Atlântica Hospitais e Participações, a subsidiary of Bradesco (BBDC4), to create a new network of hospitals, Atlântica D’Or.

The potential joint development of future new hospitals in other areas is under analysis, in particular in Taubaté and Ribeirão Preto, both in the State of São Paulo, whose assets have already been offered to Atlântica Hospitais within the scope of the partnership. The value of the total investment in hospitals under construction, in the estimated amount of R$1.156 billion.

Banco do Brasil (BBAS3)

Banco do Brasil (BBAS3) ends the earnings season for large banks with an adjusted net profit of R$9.3 billion in the first quarter of 2024 (1Q24), an amount 8.8% higher than that reported in the same period in 2023.

Eletrobras (ELET6)

Eletrobras (ELET6) reported net profit of R$331 million in the first quarter of 2024, a drop of 19% in the annual comparison.

3R Petroleum (RRRP3)

3R Petroleum (RRRP3) reported a net loss of R$229.9 million in the 1st quarter of this year, reversing a net profit of R$16.1 million in the same period of the previous year.

Taesa (TAEE11)

Taesa (TAEE11) ended the first quarter of 2024 with IFRS net profit of R$374.0 million, which represents a drop of 3.3% compared to the same period last year.

The company’s Board of Directors approved the distribution of earnings, collected based on the interim financial statements prepared on March 31, 2024, in the amount of R$ 144,893,174.22, as interest on equity (JCP).

Surpass (UGPA3)

Ultrapar (UGPA3) reported net profit of R$455 million in the first quarter of 2023 (1Q24), an amount 66% higher than that reported in the same period in 2023.

Vibra (VBBR3) recorded an 874.1% increase in net profit in the first quarter of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023, rising from R$81 million to R$789 million.

The educational company Cogna (COGN3), owner of Kroton, Somos e Saber, presented its balance sheet for the first quarter of 2024 (1Q.24)

Renner Stores (LREN3)

Lojas Renner (LREN3) had a net profit of R$139.3 million in the first quarter of 2024, practically triple that recorded in the same period last year.

Casas Bahia (BHIA3)

Casas Bahia (BHIA3) reduced its net loss in the first quarter of the year to R$261 million reais, from R$297 million a year earlier.

MRV&Co (MRVE3) had adjusted net profit for the development segment in the first quarter of this year, after a loss in 2023, driven by the increase in gross margin.

PetroReconcavo (RECV3)

PetroReconcavo (RECV3) recorded a 45% drop in net profit in the first quarter of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023, falling from R$199.5 million to R$110.3 million.

Minerva (BEEF3)

Minerva Foods, the largest beef exporter in South America, ended the first quarter of the year with a net loss of R$186.2 million, compared to a net profit of R$114 million in the same period in 2023.

Soma Group (SOMA3)

Grupo Soma (SOMA3) had an adjusted net profit of R$21.3 million in the first quarter, a decrease of 63.7% over the same period of the previous year.

Qualicorp (QUAL3)

Qualicorp (QUAL3) reported adjusted net profit of R$18.9 million in the first quarter of 2023 (1Q24), a reduction of 4.4% compared to the same period in 2023.

Petrobras (PETR4)

Petrobras (PETR4) is considering eventually purchasing Novonor’s (formerly Odebrecht) stake in Braskem (BRKM5), which is for sale, if there is no interested party, and later looking for a partner for the asset on its own, said CEO Jean Paul the day before.
