Transmissora Aliança de Energia Elétrica, known as Taesa (TAEE11), ended the first quarter of 2024 with a net profit of R$374.0 million, in accordance with the accounting standards of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), representing a drop of 3.3% compared to the same period of the previous year. Meanwhile, regulatory net profit reached R$193.2 million, a reduction of 10.3% on the same basis of comparison.

Taesa’s balance sheet follows the accounting practices of the Electrical Sector Accounting Manual of the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL) and the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), dividing the results into Regulatory Result and IFRS Result.

Taesa’s Profit Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortization (EBITDA) in the first quarter of 2024, in accordance with IFRS standards, reached R$558.2 million, a reduction of 2.0% compared to the previous year . Regulatory EBITDA totaled R$485.0 million, showing an annual drop of 7.1%. The EBITDA margin was 83.0%, decreasing 4.2 percentage points compared to the first quarter of 2023.

Taesa’s IFRS net revenue in the first quarter was R$731.3 million, representing an increase of 5.5% compared to the same period of the previous year. However, regulatory revenue totaled R$584.0 million in the first three months of this year, registering a drop of 2.4% compared to 2023.

Regarding debt, Taesa recorded a consolidated net debt of R$10.782 billion at the end of March, an increase of 4.4% compared to the previous year, considering minority interests. Excluding participations, the debt was R$8.804 billion, representing an increase of 5.4%.

These results reflect specific events, such as in Janaúba (MG), in addition to non-recurring events that affected operating costs, offset by the start of operations in Saíra (1st phase) and other operational phases.
