The Alberto Pasqualini Refinery (REFAP), in Canoas, in Greater Porto Alegre, continues to operate even after the floods that devastated Rio Grande do Sul in recent days. According to Petrobras, the unit is operating normally and meeting all product output demands.

The company chose to temporarily stop the operation of one of the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) processing units, as a result of the low withdrawal from distributors. With roads blocked by mud, distribution vehicles are unable to access the refinery. Service will resume as soon as product output returns to standard levels.

Petrobras also informed that it has set up a response team, which is providing support and assistance to refinery employees, in addition to monitoring the main points that may affect the operation and fuel output, in order to guarantee continuity of supply.

When questioned, the Petroleum Derivatives Retail Trade Union in the State of Minas Gerais (Minaspetro) reported that the supply to gas stations in Minas remains normal, without any changes due to the floods in the south of the country.
