Study shows maintenance of fixed average salaries, with small advances in large companies

Almost 70% of C-Level positions showed stability in fixed monthly remuneration in 2023 compared to 2021. Only 33.5% of positions recorded an increase in earnings, according to analysis by Page Executive, PageGroup’s business unit specialized in recruiting senior leadership executives. “With the unstable and challenging scenario, we observed a maintenance in the fixed monthly remuneration of executives”, says Paulo Dias, director of Page Executive, about the impact of the Brazilian economy on wages.

The study interviewed 2,000 executives from small, medium and large companies in Latin America.

Leaders in the commercial area (CCOs), operations (COOs) and human resources (CHROs) maintained average remuneration, with small advances in large companies. In the case of CFOs, finance executives, there was an increase in companies that invested in M&As (mergers and acquisitions) and IPOs (public offering of shares).

The situation for these executives is similar to that of CTOs. “With the readjustment of the technology market, many organizations have reduced the flow of large investments and increases in remuneration, maintaining the stability of CTOs’ salaries.”

Although salary is still at the top of professionals’ priorities, employers can look for other ways to attract candidates.

Companies that wish to retain their employees must invest in continuing education and improvement of skills and benefits related to well-being and that impact quality of life, such as flexible work models, which is non-negotiable for professionals. According to the Page Executive survey, 80% of Latin American leaders prefer to work flexible hours.
