A 2004 soap opera, Cabocla celebrates its 20th anniversary this Friday, May 10th. The plot by Benedito Ruy Barbosa, which had a first version in 1979, received a remake 25 years later, again at 6pm on Globo.

The romantic story, first starring Gloria Pires and Fábio Jr., repeated its success in the second version, this time with Vanessa Giácomo and Daniel de Oliveira in the main roles, the couple Zuca and Jerônimo.

Interestingly, both the pair in the first and second versions took the romance from fiction to real life. Gloria and Fábio were together between 1979 and 1983, while Daniel and Vanessa were married from 2009 to 2012.

The soap opera told the love story between a young woman from the countryside and a young man from the capital, who goes to live in the rural area after being diagnosed with tuberculosis. The parallel plots showed political and romantic conflicts in the region.

Vanessa Giacomo

Malvino Salvador

Another who made his debut in soap operas was Malvino Salvador, playing the pawn Tobias, Zuca’s fiancé. He also established himself as a Globo heartthrob in the following years. The last soap opera was A Dona do Pedaço (2019), five years ago.

His most recent role was in the Prime Video series Negociador (2023). The actor is 48 years old and currently dedicates himself to lectures and jiu-jitsu, in partnership with his wife Kyra Gracie.

She also works on films, series and plays. In addition to being an actress, she is a director, responsible for the recently launched series No Ano que Vem, on Canal Brasil, which talks about sisterhood. She is 40 years old.

Alexandre Rodrigues

The then newcomer to soap operas Alexandre Rodrigues He was coming off his success as Buscapé in the film Cidade de Deus (2002) when he was cast as the merchant Zaqueu in his first Globo soap opera.
