In the cast of ‘Dança dos Famosos 2024’, Klara Castanho admits that the competition journey has been the biggest challenge of his career. “When I agreed, I understood that just the fact that I could follow the rhythm, be able to do the choreography, would be an absurd gain for me, personally and professionally, because dance is not a place I’m used to. From now on, if one of my characters dances, I feel prepared.” Klara shone in’Good morning, Veronica‘ and the comedy ‘ premieres this Thursday (2nd)Swapped Vacation‘, directed by Bruno Barreto. And he reveals a professional desire:

I want to go back to soap operas. That’s where I felt and understood myself as an actress so early on. So, it’s like coming home. I would love to play a great villain, now older (she already played one, Rafaela in Viver a Vida’, between 2009 and 2010). I also want to play characters with purpose – Klara Castanho

The actress grew up in the public eye, as she began her professional career at 9 months old as a model. On TV, she debuted at 6, in the series ‘Mothern‘, by GNT. Perhaps because of this, the public has difficulty seeing her as the woman she is today. “Being small also helps with that. Professionally it’s good. I’ve been doing “15 years” in streaming for a while now,” she says, referring mainly to the series ‘Back at 15‘ and the film ‘Confessions of an excluded, unloved and (a little) dramatic girl‘, both also starring her, available on Netflix. “I find the ‘scare’ of people seeing me now as a woman, normal. I haven’t grown and developed much since I was 13. And the last great TV record, which remained in the public’s imagination, is from that time (when the soap opera ‘Beyond time‘, on Globo). His hair even looks similar to what he wore at that stage.”

Today I can’t find this ‘attachment’ to the younger Klara bad. It’s even something emotional. All the characters, whether calm or more dense, come to me because of my pseudo baby face. I’m 23 years old, but as an actress I can move between different ages, which expands. But ages should not define us – Klara Castanho

When observing how difficult it is for people to see the years passing by for her – which could only be flattering – Klara is also aware of the fact that the artistic world can be highly ageist. After all, women are not usually ‘allowed’ to grow old. “Those reaching 50 today, for example, are reinventing this story of what a woman at this age ‘should look like’. I believe that my generation will reinvent this even more.”

I hope that when I reach my 50s, we will have already reviewed this standard of what they think we should be at each age. There is an excessive appreciation of youth. I can be fine at whatever age I am. We all can. And today we are increasingly attentive to care to live better, both physically and mentally – Klara Castanho

In search of balance

Seeking more and more balance, especially after all the exposure she has been subjected to in the last year, the actress shares what she has been doing in the good times of her life. “I take care of our physical health and have been providing psychological support since always and forever, because it is very good to take care of ourselves in all areas of life. But how ‘Dance‘ the physical concern is greater and the tension of always wanting to be better also exists. I’ve been trying to stay fed, willing, and on my feet to spend all the energy I need there (laughs). Before, I was someone who did aerobics, a simple thing. Now it’s like CrossFit training, extreme and physically demanding that I’ve never had before. So, I’ve been worrying a lot more about my mood, sleep, vitamins, I’m more attentive to my health than usual.”

This rhythm of ‘Dança dos Famosos’ shows that if you want and take care of yourself, you can get wherever you want. It made me see that I am much stronger than I imagined. And also that with commitment we can reach unimaginable places. Before I thought I wouldn’t be able to, but now I’m sure I won’t stop dancing anymore. Regardless of the competition, I am surpassing myself and this has already opened up new possibilities for me – Klara Castanho

About the benefits of taking care of mental health from an early age, Klara says. “This care came from home, my parents always took care of me and I continued like that. Mainly, because I was exposed to a public work relationship from a young age, it was always a concern that I was supported. I think the most important thing in all of this is to respect yourself, your limits, your differences, what might be uncomfortable for you. All the professional challenges I faced, for example, were always with great effort, but respecting my essence. Which made me comfortable. This is a learning experience and something I was taught early on. Knowing your own limits makes you go further.”

Versatility

After shining em’Good morning, Veronica‘ as the suffering and powerful Angela, the actress premieres the comedy this Thursday (2) ‘Swapped Vacation‘, directed by Bruno Barreto, with Carol Castro, Aline Campos It is Edmilson Filho; and get ready to film’Hail Rose‘, in Susanna Lirabeside Karine Teles, a thriller, which tells the story of Rosa, a young woman who decides to investigate her past after fainting at school. “This Susanna film is a project that we have been waiting for for a while. Glad we’re going to do it! And having Karine in this story, where I need her so much, is incredible…I’m careful here not to give any spoilers (laughs). I can say that it is a project in which I really need this scene partner and I am very happy to be her.”

“Already in ‘Swapped Vacation‘ I play Rô, a teenager, another in her career (laughs), who has this fascination with social media, is always connected, but I also wanted to bring to her this freshness of experiencing new things from adolescence, that first look at the first experiences . She has an anxiety about living,” she adds.

Choices in the virtual relationship

Klara, who has 7 million followers on Instagram, also talks about her own relationship with the networks. “I see it as an extension of my work, it’s where I promote it, create a relationship so that the public can follow what I’m doing. I have always tried to be very careful and professional in this environment. This has only intensified in recent years, maturing. It is also a channel for exchanging affection, impressions of my work, I receive messages from all over the world because of the series”, she says.

Knowing how to use social media, we can restrict ourselves to only good experiences. No one pleases everyone, so you don’t get away with comments that aren’t nice. But I have a team that filters a lot of what I read, this already separates what was an ‘unnecessary outburst’ from someone. I prefer to call him that than a hater. Of course there are also people with bad intentions, but I feel like they are understanding that the internet is no longer a no man’s land. They understand that there are consequences. I try to filter to only absorb the best – Klara Castanho

Come here

The actress states that she will soon announce the third season of the podcast ‘No Name Pod‘, presented by her. “I’ll do it as long as I can. And when it isn’t, we find a way to make it happen (laughs). It is a project designed by me, with my partner, Claudia Brum, which I have a lot of affection for. Until then I had only been interviewed, so exploring this new side has been great and the best way to get to know the people I admire. Because of ‘Dança’, I haven’t been able to reconcile my schedule with that of the guests, but we will soon. There are people who have passed through my life and I want to interview this season, like Paola Oliveira and the Giovanna Antonelli“.
