The case of alleged sexual harassment committed by journalist Alexandre Kapiche has just had a development. Last Monday (29), agents from the Specialized Police Station for Women’s Assistance (DEAM) went to the headquarters of InterTV, a TV Globo affiliate in Rio de Janeiro, to investigate the allegations and find out if there are other possible victims or witnesses of the behavior of the presenter within the broadcaster.
According to the RLagos Notícias portal, delegate Drª. Aline Vilas Bôas led the team on a visit to the Globo affiliate, in order to begin an investigative process involving Alexandre Kapiche, who was fired last Friday (26). The DEAM team carried out interviews and collected information that could reveal whether there was inappropriate behavior by the former anchor within the company.
The portal published an open letter written by four women who allegedly experienced episodes of abuse by the journalist. The accusations point to embarrassment, humiliation and attacks by the communicator against women in the newsroom. Many would have resigned amid moral and sexual harassment.

“After the confirmation of Alexandre Kapiche’s dismissal, this open letter is being written by eight hands, four women who suffered and had not only their integrity cowardly damaged, but also had their professional dreams destroyed. Justice will be done on earth, also divine justice. Ps.: if Alexandre Kapiche denies a single point in this text, the video of his abuse, which led to the shutdown of InterTV, will be sent to the press, which has not yet been done, out of total respect for the victim”, says the letter.
Alexandre Kapiche worked at InterTV for seven years. Mayara Rodrigues, the journalist’s wife and presenter of the weather map on the Globo affiliate’s news programs, used social media to speak out. She shared a photo alongside her husband. “I’m just proud of you, my love! Today and always! You are a man of integrity and everyone knows it! I love you!”, wrote the communicator. Afterwards, he reposted his loved one’s message and thanked her. “Thank you very much for everything my love, I love you”, she declared.
InterTV RJ spoke out on social media after being asked by viewers for a position and confirmed the dismissal of Alexandre Kapiche. However, the channel did not comment on the allegations of harassment against the presenter and executive. “InterTV RJ confirms the dismissal of presenter Alexandre Kapiche, but does not comment on internal matters,” stated the company.
