Former participant of “BBB 24”, Pitel launches a weekly section on social media about hair care, a topic that captured the attention of many viewers throughout the program. In the first episode of “My hair, my self”, published this Tuesday (30), the 24-year-old curly woman opened her heart about the hair transition process she faced. In addition to remembering the journey of acceptance with her locks, the ex-sister promised to address topics such as hair care, products, finishing touches and hairstyles in future videos.

  • Back: Vanessa Lopes appears in the reality show ‘Túnel do amor’ and reveals that she is ‘a difficult person to fall in love with’ after ‘BBB 24’
  • Former sister: Outside of ‘BBB 24’, Alane remembers fighting with Fernanda and says that friendship with Davi is real: ‘Very focused on the game’

A 24-year-old from Alagoas decided to go through the process as an adult, when she stopped using the straightened hair she had grown since she was a child.

Although Pitel’s strands have been admired on social media, her hair was once one of Alagoas’ biggest insecurities. In an exclusive conversation with EXTRA, the social worker details the difficulties and pains of society’s non-acceptance of curly hair.

— Hair moves us and seeing that I receive compliments is wonderful. I lived a path of not accepting, of fear, insecurity and low self-esteem. I transitioned my hair in college. Social Services opened my eyes. It seems like it’s just a hair, but I had to force myself to do it — she explains, making an appeal in the video she posted: — If you’re going through this right now, trust me, it’ll work out!

Pitel remembers what her natural curls were like

She straightened her locks as a child and confessed that she no longer remembered what her natural curls were like when she decided to make the transition. As an adult, the ex-sister decided to go through the process and understands that “society leads people to believe” that “curly hair is synonymous with mess, dirt”.

— Today, I think my strong point is my hair. I accept him, I understand him and I think people realized the affection I have for him. Everything becomes beautiful when we accept ourselves, we start to take more care of our hair, to wear a cap — reinforces her, who sees the braid as a “great ally for the hair transition”.
