Claudia Raia, aged 57, informed that she will not renew her contract with TV Globo, ending a four-decade partnership as an exclusive actress for the broadcaster in July, when her current agreement will expire. The actress was grateful for the time dedicated to the house and expressed her desire to explore new horizons.
“My contract with Globo ends now, in July, after 40 uninterrupted years. I am very grateful for having stayed there, for having formed my entire professional personality there. I had many hands extended to me and I am truly very grateful. Now it’s time to do other things”, declared Claudia on the TV Fama program.
Although she has no immediate plans for other audiovisual work, Raia revealed that she is involved in “many theater projects”.
“Things start to appear. I also think that my second, freer act is beautiful and that it is part of this moment that I am living”, said the actress, currently in the cast of the play Tarsila, A Brasileira.
TV Globo has been changing its hiring policy, opting for agreements with actors for specific jobs instead of maintaining a fixed cast. This approach resulted in the departure of several veteran artists from the station.
