The Fallout series has enjoyed impressive success since its debut on April 11. The exclusive Prime Video production reached the catalog with eight episodes acclaimed by specialized critics and players.

According to news released by Variety, in its opening week, Fallout had more than 5 million viewersbeing the biggest debut of the week, generating 2.5 billion minutes watched by users.

Given its resounding success, it’s not surprising that Amazon has already renewed Fallout for a second season. According to rumors, production will begin in September in Toronto, but much of the filming will take place in California.

Fallout is directed by Jonathan Nolan (Interstellar) and Lisa Joy (Westworld. The plot features a post-apocalyptic world destroyed by a nuclear war, with the inhabitants of luxurious shelters needing to return to the hostile environment caused by their ancestors. The cast includes actors such as Ella Purnell (Yellowjackets), Aaron Moten (Emancipation) and Walton Goggins (Justified).

Interestingly, the success of the Fallout series was so great that it brought a significant increase in players playing the franchise’s games. Recently, Fallout 4 saw a 7,500% increase in European sales, while Fallout 76 broke the record for concurrent players.

The online game Fallout 76 managed to attract one million players in just one day, while other games attracted more than 5 million players in the same period.
