The broadcaster is rearranging the programming after the presenter’s departure

With the end of Edu Gudes’ partnership with Band, the broadcaster will need to change its programming schedule so as not to be left with a “hole” without The Chef. To achieve this, the company chose to invest in journalism and go head to head with its competitors, such as Globo, Record and SBT. The program Bora Brasil, presented by Joel Datena, will gain more screen time and the Band will feature almost six hours of “Datenas” daily.

The information is from columnist Flávio Ricco. Currently, the news is presented from 8 am to 9:25 am, but will now be three hours long. Joel Datena will follow the same time as his father, José Luiz Datena, and will remain live until 11am, when he will deliver the audience to the Jogo Aberto, by Craque Neto.

The programming change would only be a temporary solution. In the future, Band plans to return with a morning cooking program, but there is no concrete plan or contract signed yet.

It is worth remembering that Edu Guedes broke his partnership with the broadcaster after around four years. The presenter’s contract model began to be questioned by the station’s new management. The chef produced The Chef independently and only paid a commission to Band to put the program on air.

However, Band’s commercial department, which was now led by Walter Zagari, chose to review the agreement to analyze a way to favor the broadcaster more. Despite this, Ana Hickmann’s boyfriend chose to end the contract.
