Tales of Kenzera: Zau is one of the most recent high-profile indies to become available, a game supported by Electronic Arts, received with immense praise from critics. However, on one of the most popular digital platforms in the world, it failed to achieve a particularly satisfactory result.

According to SteamDB, Surgent Studios’ first effort hasn’t even managed to reach more than 300 simultaneous players on Steam, Valve’s popular digital platform for PC, since its launch on April 23.

On a more positive note, Tales of Kenzera: Zau has an average rating of 75% among 136 reviews from Steam players.

Tales of Kenzera: Zau is available for 19.99 euros on digital platforms for PC, PlayStation and Xbox, but PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers can get access at no additional cost.

In our review, Tales of Kenzera: Zau was described as follows:

“In any case, if this is Surgent Studios’ first title, I don’t even want to imagine what the studio will be able to do as it gains more experience and experience in video game production. I’m a fan of metroidvanias, which could certainly have helped, but I believe Tales of Kenzera: Zau has something for every player.”
