Amazon revealed, this Tuesday (23), unprecedented data about the use of Alexa in Brazil in 2023. The virtual assistant was used 2 billion times to set alarms, reminders and timers and performed more than 1 billion routines — function which allows you to configure actions based on specific commands or triggers. Turning smart bulbs or smart TVs on and off were the most requested actions in terms of connected homes, but the use of Alexa as a smart home hub appears to be growing. From 2022 to 2023, the company recorded a 50% growth in the use of Alexa to control smart devices — in 2023, there were 2 billion uses for this purpose.
In total, Brazilian customers have more than 17 million smart devices connected to their Echo devices. There are more than 800 products compatible with the system available on the market, from brands such as Elgin, LG, Samsung, Philips Hue and more. At an event with journalists and influencers in Rio de Janeiro, the company demonstrated the uses of Alexa in everyday connected homes and revealed the survey with curiosities and information about Brazilian consumers.
