The superintendent of Suframa, Bosco Saraiva, informed, this Tuesday (2), that three companies should resume activities at the Manaus Industrial Pole (PIM). They are: the Japanese Sony, Voltz Motos Elétricas and Vivo Móbile Communications Co. The Sony project has already been approved. The other two are being analyzed by the municipality.

Bosco Saraiva explained that the Sony proposal will be implemented by a third-party company, Soluções 2 Go. He said that the dates for the start of production, for the three companies, have not yet been agreed.

“We received with great joy the information about the resumption of production of discs for Sony games, through the company Soluções To Go, as well as the resumption of production of electric motorcycles by Voltz Motos Elétricas (which had production suspended last year) and also the production of cell phones by Vivo Móbile Communications Co. (Project already being processed for approval by Suframa)”, says the superintendent.

During its operations in the Free Zone, Sony Interactive Entertainment produced TVs, camcorders, projectors, cameras and DVD players and ended its production in 2020, after 48 years in Brazil and attributed the reason to the “recent market environment”. The factory where its products were produced was negotiated with Mondial.

Voltz Motos Elétricas had its production suspended last year and maintained a capacity of 15 thousand motorcycles per month, in addition to being considered “the Brazilian Tesla” due to its electric mobility capacity in the country. However, its activities had to be suspended due to financial crises and delivery problems.

Vivo Móbile Communications will operate in the manufacturing complex of Cal-Comp Indústria de Eletrônicos e Semicondutores, a production company located on Av. Torquato Tapajós.
