Manaus (AM) – From the 5th to the 9th of September, the city of Manaus will host the 2022 Women’s Amazon Handball Cup. The games will take place in the gymnasium of Atlético Rio Negro Clube, in downtown Manaus.
The regional competition is organized by the Brazilian Handball Confederation (CBHb) and the Amazonas Handball League (LIHAM). The six teams registered for the championship will represent the states of Amazonas (3), Pará (2) and Amapá (1). The Amazon Cup is worth a spot in the National League, which takes place in December.
The clubs confirmed in the Amazon Cup are: Esmac Ananindeua (Pará), Atlético Rio Negro Clube (Amazonas), Beta Handebol do Viver Melhor (Amazonas), Smel Castanhal (Pará), Unisporte (Amapá) and São Raimundo/HCM/Unip (Amazonas). ).
The opening game will take place next Monday (5), at 3 pm, bringing face to face the interstate confrontation Esmac Ananindeua (PA) and São Raimundo/HCM/Unip (Amazonas).
The first round continues at 5 pm with the duel Atlético Rio Negro Clube (AM) x Unisporte (AP); and at 7 pm, with Beta do Viver Melhor (AM) x Smel Castanhal (PA). The opening ceremony is scheduled to take place at half-time between the second and third matches, at around 19:00.
The Amazon Cup continues until the 9th of September, Friday, always in the gymnasium of Atlético Rio Negro Clube. Everyone plays against everyone else and the winning team will be the one with the most points in the championship.
