Abel’s favorite, Estévão is the new jewel of Palmeiras
Palmeiras performed again this Tuesday, at the Football Academy, and began preparing to face Liverpool, in Uruguay, next Thursday, at 7pm (Brasília time), in the fourth round of the Conmebol Libertadores group stage.
The main news in the team should be the return of Raphael Veiga to the starting lineup. The midfielder was not even listed to face Cuiabá, last Sunday, to avoid greater wear and tear.
If this happens, Luis Guilherme is the most likely to lose his place. The boy started and assisted in the last match.
Dudu and Bruno Rodrigues may return soon, but they will not travel to Montevideo. In the final stages of recovery from knee surgery, the attackers trained with the group this morning and are getting closer to playing again.
They were on the field with the reserves from the match against Cuiabá and those who were not listed. The incumbents stayed inside the Academy for regenerative work.
Still without both, Abel Ferreira must take to the field a team with: Weverton, Mayke, Murilo, Gustavo Gómez and Piquerez; Aníbal Moreno, Richard Ríos (Zé Rafael) and Raphael Veiga; Lázaro (Estevão), Endrick and Flaco López.
– All Libertadores games away from home are difficult and on Thursday it will be tough too. Uruguayan teams are like that. It’s a young team that runs a lot. We have to enter in the same way and compete to impose ourselves from the beginning of the game – said Gustavo Gómez on the club’s website.
Leader of Group F, Palmeiras can reach 10 points in this round and be very close to qualifying for the round of 16 of the Libertadores.
