An old debt between Palmeiras and the City of São Paulo, worth R$22.3 million, has entered the execution phase. In other words, the club will have to pay since there is no longer any appeal.

The value refers to taxes (ISS) not collected from 2010 to 2014; During this period, the club had Luiz Gonzaga Belluzzo, Arnaldo Tirone and Paulo Nobre as presidents.

The information was published by journalist Paulinho, on his blog. He exposed the process documents.

The debt owed to City Hall is yet another that previous administrations left as an “inheritance”. The club recently settled its debt with Antenor Angeloni, the businessman who sponsored the signing of Wesley in 2012, and Palmeiras will soon need to pay Samsung for breaking the sponsorship contract in 2010. The two cases together are close to R$100 million.
