Now, the number 1 in the world has a 3,412 point advantage over the second place. The Polish player has 10,910 points compared to her rival’s 7,498.

The top two in the ranking had also played in last year’s final in Madrid, but with Sabalenka winning. The rematch obtained by Swiatek allowed his advantage, which was 2,712 points in the previous ranking list, to increase by another 700 points.

Third place is North American Coco Gauff, with 7,313 points. She will compete for second place with Sabalenka in the coming weeks in Rome. Both defend few points, as Gauff fell in the third round last year, while Sabalenka was eliminated in her debut. Kazakh Elena Rybakina, with 6,673 points, is the current champion and defends a thousand points.

Few changes in the top 10 and top 20

The top 10 had few changes. Czech Marketa Vondrousova and Chinese Qinwen Zheng took sixth and seventh positions. Both overtook the Greek Maria Sakkari, who fell to eighth place.
