Fluminense released, on Tuesday night, the financial statement for the year 2023. Tricolor’s total revenue was R$695 million, with the amount divided into three categories: operational (R$451 million), sales of intangible assets (R$213 million) and financial assets (R$31 million). On the other hand, the liabilities involving the total Tricolor debt rose again: it went from R$793.313 million to R$822.993 million.

According to the 46-page document, audited by Mazars Auditores Independentes, the growth in operating revenue is due to the increase in revenue from broadcasting and performance rights (83%), fan membership and box office programs (155%) and sponsorship ( from R$32 million to R$50 million).

Furthermore, there was a reduction in revenue from athlete transfers and solidarity mechanisms (-83%). On the official website, Fluminense gives details about these points.

  • Increase of R$ 125,811 (83%) in revenue from broadcasting and performance rights, especially due to the victory of the Copa Libertadores;
  • Increase of R$49,399 (155%) in revenue from the fan membership program and box office, together (from R$22 million to R$56 million and from R$21.5 million to R$32 million, respectively) ;
  • Increase of R$17,078 (53%) in sponsorship revenue (from R$32 million to R$50 million);
  • Reduction of R$77,823 (-83%) in revenue from athlete transfers and solidarity mechanisms.

O Fluminense closed 2023 with a surplus of R$78 million, exceeding the profit of R$7 million in the previous period (2022). In 2020 and 2021, there was a deficit of R$2.9 million and R$2 million, respectively.

As part of the transaction for the Brasileirão television rights contracts from 2025 to 2074, signed by the Liga Forte Futebol do Brasil (LFF), 20% were negotiated for the value of R$213,500. Of the total price, R$122,194 was received during the 2023 financial year, and the amount was recognized as “other income”.

As of December 31, 2023, the amounts of R$ 91,306 relating to the transaction are recorded as “accounts receivable”. The balance is due for payment in November 2024 (R$34,240) and May 2025 (R$57,066).
