O Fluminense reported through an official statement that the attacker John Kennedy is away for an indefinite period after being late once again for a team training session. The incident occurred this Tuesday (30). According to the club, the athlete attended the activities 1h20 minutes after the start.
The Rio club had reinstated Kennedy to the squad last Monday (29), as it had forgiven the athlete for not attending training on Sunday (28). However, the new episode caused the athlete to be once again punished by the board, now with no expected return date.
John Kennedy has been away from the club in recent days after being accused of having participated in a party with other athletes from the squad before the match against Vascowon 2-1 by Tricolor das Laranjeiras, on the 20th.
On the 29th, the attacker broke his silence and took to social media to give his version of the story. The striker apologized to his teammates, the coaching staff and the fans for his behavior “not being the best” and also stated that he “accepts all punishments.
At the same time, shirt 9 denied having participated in any party at the concentration. According to him, the news brought a lot of problems to his family. With the new delay in this Tuesday’s activities, the athlete will remain out of the squad.
Finally, the other three names who had committed the act of indiscipline alongside John Kennedy, Alexsander, Kauã Elias and Arthurwere reinstated to work with the group.
Fluminense returns to the field this Wednesday (May 1st), at 4pm, in front of Sampaio Corrêain Maranhão, for the first leg of the Third Phase of Brazil’s Cup.
