John Textor talks about allegations of manipulation of results and Senate investigation

John Textor was punished by the STJD (Supreme Court of Sports Justice) in a session held in the early afternoon of this Friday in Rio de Janeiro. He was suspended for 45 days and fined R$100,000 for statements made after the defeat to Palmeiras in November last year.

– She says I’m crazy because I didn’t produce evidence. That’s a lie. She’s lying. It’s misinformation. Every time she goes on air and says “he makes these claims without proof” she intentionally lies. She knows exactly what I did at STJD. It puts tremendous pressure on them. I can’t say why she’s so against it. There are other clubs that may be involved in match fixing, and the presidents have responded in a completely different way. They said “if any of my players did something wrong, if something happened to the opponent where they did something wrong, I want to know. And, John, I’m with you.” I am receiving this silent support from other club presidents who are in a similar situation as her. I guess my message to her would be, “If you’re not guilty, stop acting guilty. Because you’re certainly not acting like someone who wants to get to the truth,” John said.
