“There will be no more Marta in the National Team from 2025 onwards” – Marta

“This is my last year, and I can already confirm it here. There is a moment when we have to understand that the time has come. I’m very calm about this, because I see with great optimism this development that we are having in relation to young athletes”, he confirmed afterwards.

He then indicated that he is happy with the formation of the rest of his team, which will be able to carry on his legacy. “We have a very qualified team, with very talented girls and, over the years, you will see that it really is what I’m talking about, it’s a very fertile ground. For this reason, I feel very comfortable saying : ‘Look, I’m passing it on to you, I’m going to pass the baton, and you continue to carry on this legacy’.”
