Leonardo Storck, athlete from the Rio Tennis Academy, in Rio de Janeiro, born in Mato Grosso, champion of the Banana Bowl in the 16 years old category, has had, in recent days, a great experience for his career.

The 15-year-old athlete served as a training sparring partner for some of the biggest names on the world professional circuit in the modern Caja Mágica, in Madrid, where the local Masters 1000 and WTA 1000 began. The two tournaments together distribute around R$100 million in prizes.

Storck trained accompanied by coach Rafael Tanaka with names such as Adrian Mannarino, Lesia Tsurenko, Elise Mertens, athletes among the thirty best in the world, among other players. The experience was provided by Rio Tennis’ partnership with André Sá.

“I’m seeing up close what the professionals’ routine is like, I’m really enjoying it, I’m grateful to Rio Tennis and André Sá who gave me this experience,” said Storck.

“It’s been an incredible experience for Leo, being able to see and live the routine here with the professionals, the opportunity to witness and observe many things that we talk about on a daily basis, but that can sometimes seem distant in relation to professionalism and commitment. Here he was able to see everything really happening. An experience that could be fundamental for his future as a player”, added Tanaka.

Leo Storck is now heading to Girona, Spain, to compete in a tournament on the under-18 world youth circuit.

The Rio Tennis Academy has a partnership with ENGIE, INNI, Joma, Kallas and Granado.

The Rio Tennis Academy is located in Rio de Janeiro, in Laranjeiras, and is one of the most modern tennis academies in Brazil with nine courts (six clay and three hard), has the entire infrastructure of the PFW system (Performance, Fisio and Wellness) and also dormitories for athletes. The academy has a partnership with ENGIE, INNI, Joma, Kallas and Granado.
