At the UFC 300an event held in April, in Las Vegas (USA), the largest MMA of the world put the belt ‘BMF‘ (toughest fighter) in the game for the third time. At the show, Max Holloway shined and brutally knocked out Justin Gaethje.

Now, Daniel Cormierformer fighter and current commentator, already imagining a new fight for the symbolic title, innovates and suggests the name of an athlete for the organization.

‘DC’ nominated Aljamain Sterling, former bantamweight champion (61 kg), as the next candidate to challenge for the ‘BMF’ belt. It is worth noting that, before Holloway and Gaethje, Dustin Poirier, Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz also fought for the valuable object.

But, according to the veteran, ‘Funk Master’, despite not having a violent profile, proved to be tough and worthy of fighting for that title due to his dominance against Calvin Kattar, in his featherweight debut (66 kg) .

“Let me tell you who I think should be in the next BMF belt fight: Aljamain Sterling. Put Sterling in the fight for the BMF belt. If someone is a BMF, they can do what Sterling did at UFC 300.”

“You move up in weight and dominate someone in grappling like that, that’s what being a BMF is. Put Sterling in the next title fight”, declared the former fighter, on his program ‘Good Guy/Bad Guy’, on ESPN American.

Sterling’s MMA Record

Aljamain Sterling, 34, is a former UFC bantamweight champion and one of the best fighters in the history of the category. Currently, the American is eighth in the featherweight rankings.

The athlete began his career in MMA in 2011, debuted with the company in 2014 and built a record consisting of 24 wins and four losses. His main triumphs were over Calvin Kattar, Cory Sandhagen, Henry Cejudo, Pedro Munhoz, Petr Yan (twice), Renan Barão and TJ Dillashaw.
