“In 2023, the Climate Fund contracted 27 operations, with resources of R$733 million, until then the largest contract in its history. Operations last year generated 1,867 jobs and prevented the emission of 4.3 million tons of carbon dioxide , equivalent to the emissions from cars in the metropolitan region of São Paulo for ten months”, he said.

When contacted, Minister Rui Costa said, through his advisor, that the dates stated in the September minutes as being calls for future CIM meetings were just a “forecast” and that the committee “will meet, on an ordinary basis, every six months and , on an extraordinary basis, upon summons by its President”.

The document, however, informs that the meetings in November 2023 and April 2024 were put to a vote. “The president of the CIM asked if everyone agreed, there were no comments and the proposed dates were approved”, records the minutes.

“Since the recreation, 4 Working Groups have been created, which meet regularly to discuss and prepare proposals. The Committee’s activities are ongoing. The results of the GT’s will be assessed by the Committee’s Plenary, in a new meeting, when they are concluded for presentation”, he stated, without also establishing the calendar.
