On May 5th, the Unified National Public Competition (CPNU) test will be held, an innovative model for selecting public servants, carried out by the Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services (MGI), which will offer 6,640 vacancies for 21 bodies of the Federal Public Administration. 3,665 application sites and 75,730 rooms were defined, with 94.6% of the population able to participate with a commute of up to 100 km. The rooms are distributed in 228 municipalities, in all Brazilian states.

The estimated workforce to work in the National Competition is 215 thousand workers. To maintain the safety and fairness of the test, safety guidelines were defined inside and outside the application sites. The 1,442 distribution routes have been mapped and will be used to take the test to the locations. Across the country, there will be 4,146 application coordinations, with around 517 participants in the competition per coordination.

Inside the classrooms, inspectors were instructed not to allow candidates to leave with the test booklet or to make notes on the answer sheet on the confirmation card. These actions aim to reinforce the security of the competition and prevent possible gangs from accessing the questions and, consequently, sending the answers to applicants who are taking the competition.

Consultation of test locations

Candidates can now check their test location. The Registration Confirmation Card for the Unified National Public Competition (CPNU) is available at Candidate Area, the same website on which the person registered. To access, you must log in with your GOV.BR account details.

The confirmation card contains, among other information, the registration number, date, time and location of the test, in addition to recording that the registered person will be entitled to specialized assistance or treatment using their social name, if applicable. Although it is not mandatory, the Ministry of Management recommends taking the card on the day of the test, on May 5th.

CPNU’s general logistics coordinator, Alexandre Retamal, reinforces the importance of candidates checking all the information on their card. “All candidates must check that the municipality they indicated, when registering, to participate in the test is correct. If you have any type of error, or if the application location is too far from your home – sometimes, within the logistics of a city, there are places that are not so easily accessible – then it is important to contact Fundação Cesgranrio and ask for corrections of whatever is necessary”, explains the general coordinator.

“It is possible for the candidate to request correction of the confirmation card, according to what he/she did when registering, but it is not possible to request to change the city now. What counts is what was declared at the time of registration. For example, if I asked to take the test in the city of Rio de Janeiro and it said on my card that my location is Campos, then I can ask to change it, I can ask to correct it for Rio. Now, if I asked to take the test in Campos when registering, but now I want to do it in Rio, that’s not possible”, explains Retamal.

To request corrections to the confirmation card, candidates must contact Fundação Cesgranrio, by telephone: 0800 701 2028.

Tests in all states of Brazil

The CPNU will take place in cities and population arrangements with more than 100 thousand inhabitants, according to data from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE). Holding the test in 228 cities across the country makes it possible to democratize access to public service vacancies, as it is more practical and cheaper for the population to take the test close to their homes.

The objective is to increase the representation of the workforce, bringing socioeconomic, demographic and territorial criteria into the application of the competition, so that this is reflected in the Federal Public Administration.

The 228 municipalities that will host the National Competition are divided into all 27 Brazilian states and the Federal District.

The North region will have 40 municipalities, two in Acre, nine in Amazonas, three in Amapá, 17 in Pará, four in Rondônia, two in Roraima and three in Tocantins. Candidates from the Northeast will be able to take the test in 61 municipalities: two in Alagoas, 18 in Bahia, eight in Ceará, nine in Maranhão, four in Paraíba, seven in Pernambuco, seven in Piauí, four in Rio Grande do Norte and two in the state of Sergipe.

The CPNU will be applied in 30 municipalities in the Center-West, 17 in Goiás, four in Mato Grosso do Sul, eight in Mato Grosso and one in the Federal District. The South region will have 27 cities: nine in Paraná, ten in Rio Grande do Sul and eight in Santa Catarina.

The most populous region in Brazil, the Southeast will have 70 municipalities where tests are administered, with four in Espírito Santo, 26 in Minas Gerais, eleven in Rio de Janeiro and 27 in São Paulo.
