Through a message issued on the company’s social networks, the CEO of Ryanair celebrated the departure of Stan Deal, CEO of Boeing Commercial Airlines. Deal will leave the company with immediate effect and will be replaced by Stephanie Pope, following a significant change in management at the North American manufacturer, as reported by partner portal Aviacionline.

The Irish-born low-cost airline’s CEO, Michael O’Leary, expressed his delight at the changes in Boeing’s leadership and said: “As Boeing’s largest customer in Europe, Ryanair welcomes the management changes announced today.”

“Stan Deal has done an excellent job selling for Boeing over many years, but he is not the right person to move operations in Seattle, where most of the problems have occurred in recent years. We welcome and look forward to working with Stephanie Pope, along with Dave Calhoun and Brian West, to eliminate Boeing delivery delays for both the summer and fall of 2024, so that we hopefully have no delays in deliveries for summer 2025”, he added.

The company will experience significant delays in deliveries of its 737 MAX 200, the high-density version of the 737 MAX 8, reducing expected delivery to 40 planes from the 57 initially committed.

“On behalf of everyone at Ryanair, I would like to thank Stan Deal for his service over the last 30 years. Welcome, Stephanie Pope. We look forward to working with her to receive our planes in time for Summer 2024 and Summer 2025“, he concluded.
