The message was published after the mayor stated that he did not authorize the American singer’s concert in the city. Paes said that the first round of elections, scheduled for October 6, prevents the shows from taking place.

The mayor justified that the municipal election demands a large mobilization of public employees, as security agents, which makes it impossible to provide servers to assist with shows. “The electoral process requires a very large mobilization of civil servants to take place. This occurs mainly in relation to the police forces and the Municipal Guard”, he wrote in a publication on X.

So, Paes stated that the show’s production was notified. He stated that, if the producer wanted to reschedule for other dates, the singer would be welcome in the city.

The mayor stated that he would call the police and consumer protection agencies against the show. Paes said that the city is “no man’s land” and reaffirmed the potential for major events.

Everyone knows that I make a point of encouraging, providing support and all the strength to make these events happen. Now, you’ll forgive me for my expression, but this isn’t mother Joana’s house.

This Thursday (9), Live Nation decided to cancel the pre-sale of tickets for the singer’s extra show in the city of Rio. “We will work closely with the mayor’s office to find a solution for fans. All presale and sale information will be released soon along with updates on event dates,” reads a statement posted on social media.
