The minister Alexandre de Moraesof Federal Supreme Court (STF) ordered the release, this Friday (3), of the former aide-de-camp Jair Bolsonaro (PL). He had been detained since March 22 at the Army Police battalion, in Brasília. “In his request for provisional release, the person being investigated reaffirmed the validity of the reports provided at police headquarters and informed that, in freedom, he will continue to contribute to the investigations”, said Moraes in his decision, which takes place under precautionary measures in the process, such as not speaking about the investigations, the reason that triggered his latest arrest. In leaked audios, he appeared criticizing the Federal Police investigation and Moraes himself, rapporteur of investigations targeting Cid.

In the request for freedom, Cid’s defense argues that the audios did not harm the investigation and that there was no obstruction of justice, and that the recording was made clandestinely. In this Friday’s decision, Moraes fully maintained the award-winning collaboration agreement signed by the military with the PF. Cid is being investigated for attempting to intervene in the results of the 2022 presidential elections, the falsification of Covid-19 vaccination cards and the sale of Saudi jewelry received by the presidency. Interestingly, his release comes exactly one year after his first arrest, which took place in May 2023.
