The veteran frontman didn’t mince his words and spilled the beans, as can be seen in the transcript published on the Blabbermouth website last Monday (April 29).
“Metal nowadays has so many subcategories of metal that it’s ridiculous,” said Benton, who spared no criticism of the look that some musicians in metal bands sport.
“All we have is a bunch of guys who look like Weezer wannabes trying to play metal. They’re all wearing black-rimmed glasses and trucker hats. Nobody cares about their image anymore, how they look like metal and so on.” , added Glen, who apparently doesn’t want to change his characteristic “look”, nor does he want to change the look of his band partners.

“I walk around 24 hours a day looking like this. I can’t shake it, man. I’m never going to let myself get carried away by it. I’ve always been like that, too, about the guys on stage, man. You’re not going out there. wearing a plaid shirt and white sneakers. That’s not going to happen.”
Deicide’s most recent work is “Banished By Sin”, released on April 26th.
