Baby, new movie Marcelo Caetano (Electric Body), got its first teaser today (8). Check out the preview above, which heats up for the world premiere of the LGBTQIA+ novel during Critics’ Week. Cannes Film Festival 2024in May 21.

Baby is the nickname chosen by Wellington (João Pedro Mariano), who knows Ronaldo (Ricardo Teodoro) in a porn cinema in the center of São Paulo, shortly after being released from a Detention Center for young people. As Ronaldo, a prostitute, teaches his new protégé new ways to survive, their relationship turns into a passion full of conflicts.

It’s difficult to give a name to their relationship, it’s a crazy passion, it’s also a friendship full of disagreements. Deep down, the two fight to put an end to the loneliness that life imposes on them”, reveals Caetano. “Baby is a letter full of passion and pain to the Center of São Paulo, a place where I have been filming for 15 years, since my first short films. In ‘Baby’, the characters are in constant motion. They cross the city streets in search of freedom and the fulfillment of their desires. It is a film, above all, about complicity and friendship, in the midst of chaos”.

Caetano will go to the Cannes Film Festival to present his film alongside Mariano and Teodoro, as well as his co-stars Ana Flavia Cavalcanti, Bruna Linzmeyer It is Cleo Coelho.
