‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ will introduce CHANGE in Scar’s story; Understand!

‘Mufasa’awaited pre-sequel in live-action in ‘The Lion King‘, had its first trailer released – and it looks like it will change a very canonical detail of this universe.

As seen both in the material in question and in the official synopsis, the villainous Scar, responsible for Mufasa’s death in the original animation, will not be the titular character’s brother, but rather the “heir to a royal lineage”. This means that, unlike what we could imagine, Mufasa did not always have his history tied to the throne and, after crossing paths with Scar (who, here, will be presented as Taka), he must ascend to the position that immortalized him as king.

In 2022, the producer Don Hahn explained to Reader’s Digest that, in fact, Mufasa and Scar were never brothers – simply because it is not possible in the wild. Despite belonging to the same pride, they do not have the same parents and one of them, in this case Scar, always remains in the shadows of the true “leader” of the group until his position is taken by another lion.

The feature film, previously scheduled for the day July 5, 2024will now hit theaters only in December 20, 2024.

“’Mufasa: The Lion King’ enlists Rafiki to convey the legend of Mufasa to the young lion cub Kiara, daughter of Simba and Nala, with Timon and Pumbaa lending their signature. The script was written by Jeff Nathansonwho was also responsible for the script for the original.

Aaron Pierre (‘Tempo’) will voice Mufasa. Already Kelvin Harrison Jr.known for ‘Luce‘, will voice the character Taka.

For those who don’t know. Taka is the real name of ScarMufasa’s brother who ultimately betrays and kills him in an attempt to take control of the king of Pride Rock.
