Starring Oscar winner Emma Stone, the film Easy A (The Lie) is available on Max and will make the platform’s subscribers laugh just as it did in theaters more than a decade ago.

What happens in the movie The Lie?

In the plot full of references to 80s hits, we meet Olive (Emma Stone), an intelligent and sarcastic teenager who finds herself in the center of a web of lies and misunderstandings after lying about losing her virginity.

At first, Olive just wanted to impress her best friend Rhi (Alyson Michalka) by saying that she went out with an older guy. The harmless story takes on major proportions when the fervent Catholic Marianne (Amanda Bynes) hears the lie and spreads the rumor around school about her classmate’s “vulgarity”.

Gossip gets out of control. Olive sees her life turned upside down, just like in The Scarlet Letter, a literary classic that he is studying in class. And if the only thing people believe is her lies, Olive uses the rumors about her sex life to gain more attention and benefits!
