Cities in Minas Gerais are mobilizing to collect donations for victims of the rains in Rio Grande do Sul. In Curvelo, for example, in the Central region of Minas, Tiro de Guerra is collecting materials to be sent to the southern state.
Sub-Lieutenant Flávio Soares Ribeiro, commander of the TG, told Rádio Centrominas, in Curvelo, that the initiative came from one of the members of the Minas Gerais Shooters and Veterans Association, of which he is also a member: “I promptly bought the idea and we started to organize activities to start the campaign. (…) I also contacted the 4th Military Region so they could give authorization and I was promptly authorized.”
The material collected will be transported to Belo Horizonte by the Municipality of Curvelo, through the Department of Education. “From Belo Horizonte, it will go to Rio Grande do Sul through a private company”, explains the military officer.
After the first shipment, which will be this Friday (10), donations will continue so that new shipments can be directed to the state of Rio Grande do Sul.

Other cities in the central-north region of Minas are also active in donating to help the population of Rio Grande do Sul, such as Buenópolis and Joaquim Felício.
