Women victims of domestic violence who use the Portable Tracking Unit (UPR) can report new cases of aggression through the number 0800.643.5508. The initiative to create an exclusive center for this public comes from the Secretariat of Penitentiary Administration and Resocialization (SEAP).

The telephone line is operated by the Electronic People Monitoring Center (CEMEP) and service is provided 24 hours a day, every day of the week.

The Portable Tracking Unit works as an alert of the aggressor’s proximity, as mechanisms to prevent, curb and punish domestic and family violence against women. Unlike an electronic ankle bracelet, it is not attached to the body and can be carried in a bag, for example.
