DER-MG begins road safety improvement works on MG-010 next Thursday – Department of Highways of the State of Minas Gerais

The Department of Highways of Minas Gerais (DER-MG) begins, next Thursday (9/5), works to revitalize the horizontal and vertical signage and road safety devices of MG-010, located in the vector north of the Metropolitan Region of Belo Horizonte (RMBH).

The works should last 120 days, according to the DER-MG works schedule. The first interventions will begin on the stretch between the Vilarinho viaduct and km 19 of MG-10. Depending on the services, there will be a need to close one of the traffic lanes to carry out the improvements. Therefore, drivers traveling along the road should be aware of the possibility of getting stuck in traffic. For those heading to Tancredo Neves International Airport, in Confins, the recommendation is to leave home a little earlier.

The revitalization of horizontal and vertical signage and road safety devices covers more than 42 km of roads. They are part of the package, in addition to the MG-010, between the Vilarinho interchange and the Lagoa Santa interchange, with 18.10 km; to LMG-800, access to Lagoa Santa, 4.24 km long and 20 km to MG-424, a stretch between the MG-010 junction and Pedro Leopoldo.

In addition, the roads between the Vilarinho interchange and the MG-424 junction and in the segment up to the Cidade Administrativa tunnel will receive improvements. The investment is more than R$8 million.

On 9/5 and 10/5 (Thursday and Friday) the works will be carried out between kilometers 12 and 18 of MG-010, from 8:30 am to 5 pm, towards the airport. Periodically, DER-MG will inform you about the progress of services and changes in traffic on the road.
