If you live in Acre and like to observe phenomena in the skies, the tip is to observe the passage of the International Space Station (ISS) this Wednesday (08), between 5pm and 6pm. From our state, the Space Station can be seen in at least nine cities.

Researcher Davi Friale revealed the best times and locations to observe the passage of the device, which can be seen with intense brightness and from any point in the city, such as in Rio Branco.

“It will begin to appear, in Rio Branco and nearby cities, at 5:52 pm, on the southwest horizon (about 45 degrees to the left of where the Sun sets). Three minutes later, at 5:55 pm, it will be almost vertical, over Rio Branco, around 80 degrees above the northwest horizon, to disappear, at 5:58 pm, on the northeast horizon of the capital of Acre”, he revealed.

Anyone in the cities of Brasileia, Epitaciolândia, Xapuri, Capixaba, Senador Guiomard, Bujari, Porto Acre, Sena Madureira and Boca do Acre, in Amazonas, will also be able to see the phenomenon, however, with less intense brightness.

NASA researchers, in television reports, state that the Station is approximately the size of a football field, 109m long by 51m wide. Inside, the volume is approximately that of a Boeing 747.

The space station is the largest man-made vehicle in orbit around the Earth since 1998. It weighs more than 500,000 kg and takes just 92 minutes to make a complete revolution around the Earth. Its height is 420km and its speed is 27,500km/h, or 7,500 meters per second. Inside are some astronauts.
