Get to know each axis:

  1. WATER SUPPLY: RURAL

The New PAC Seleções will invest R$400 million in 247 municipalities to expand access and quality of water supply services in Brazilian rural areas. The works guarantee water in adequate quantity and quality for families, increasing the quality of life and contributing to the reduction of social inequalities. Municipalities with the greatest water service deficits were prioritized.

  1. LIVING PERIPHERY – FAVELA URBANIZATION

The program selected R$5.3 billion that will benefit 48 municipalities to transform the urban and living conditions of vulnerable populations, living in Brazilian outskirts. Integrated interventions seek to provide favelas with urban infrastructure such as housing improvements, drainage to reduce the risk of natural disasters, environmental recovery, land regularization and public health, education, sports, leisure and cultural facilities.

  1. PREVENTION OF NATURAL DISASTERS: CONTAINMENT OF SLOPES

In preventing natural disasters, R$1.7 billion will be invested to carry out slope containment works in 91 municipalities with recurring landslide problems.

Due to the heavy rains and floods that hit the state of Rio Grande do Sul, all proposals for slope containment works sent by the State were considered.

These projects are essential for reducing the risk of disasters, providing more dignified and safe housing conditions for the population. The interventions take place in critical municipalities in high or very high risk areas and seek sustainable solutions and dialogue with local communities.

  1. LAND REGULARIZATION

The New PAC Seleções will invest R$313 million, in 197 municipalities, to increase the regularity of peripheral housing in Brazil, increasing legal security for the population. Investments in Land Regularization guarantee resources for municipalities to regularize and title occupants of low-income settlements as legitimate owners.

  1. FLEET RENEWAL

The program invests in the acquisition of 2,529 electric buses, 2,782 Euro 6 buses and 39 tracked vehicles to renew the Brazilian urban transport fleet and equipment. The Fleet Renewal modality integrates energy efficiency and low fuel consumption to improve service to the population, contributing to the reduction of CO2 emissions and the quality of life in Brazilian cities. The decrease in the average age of urban transport vehicles also contributes to strengthening the production of vehicles and chain components in the national industry.
