The search team with dogs from the Espírito Santo Military Fire Department (CBMES) used the expertise of the dogs Brisa and Fênix and managed to locate the body of a 13-year-old teenager who was swept away by the flood.

Teams had been searching for the teenager for 6 days. The CBMES team started supporting on Tuesday (07) and on the same day the dogs indicated a point. After removing trees and debris, the body was located.

The dogs, which make up the staff of the Specialized Disaster Response Center (Cerd), at CBMES, are trained to locate living or dead people. When it finds a victim, the dog barks, indicating the point to the soldier accompanying him. In all cases already handled by CBMES, there is no record of incorrect point indication.

In another video, a soldier from the Espírito Fire Department shows the region where the body could be. It is a large area, where there was a condominium with approximately 48 residences. The place was completely devastated. “There is nothing left. The victim lived here with his parents. The mother managed to get out. The father clung to the eucalyptus trees and waited for help,” said the soldier.
