According to the Navy, the Multipurpose Aircraft Ship (NAM) Atlântico will transport two mobile water treatment stations, capable of producing a total of 20 thousand liters of drinking water per hour. They will be used to supply water to the population, which is suffering from the collapse of the treatment and supply system in the state.

In addition, the ship will also carry eight medium and small vessels to assist in rescuing stranded victims and transporting supplies through flooded waterways. The Navy also said that it is mobilizing four ships, 20 vessels, 12 aircraft and hundreds of soldiers, in an operation similar to a war action. Tomorrow, across the Atlantic, the Frigate Defensora will head to the state, transporting donations and supplies.

The Force also reported that this Tuesday (7) the Oceanic Support Ship Mearim and the Oceanic Patrol Ship Amazonas, equipped with three vessels and a field hospital, with capacity for 40 beds, were sent to the state. assist flood victims.

According to the Navy, with the arrival of the ships, the Navy’s air rescue teams will receive reinforcement from eight more aircraft, in addition to the four that remain on standby in the state. There will be twelve helicopters, in total, in a continuous effort to rescue residents stranded in difficult-to-access areas. 40 vehicles and 200 Marine soldiers are also being deployed to clear access roads, in addition to health support teams, made up of doctors and nurses.
