The Board of Desenbahia – Bahia State Development Agency approved changes to the Taxi Fleet Renewal Program – Protáxi. It is now possible to finance new electric vehicles, with reduced interest of 15% per year, with an increased limit of R$100,000 and up to 60 months to pay.

The goal for 2024 is to release R$40 million. To apply for financing, the taxi driver must submit the proposal through the professional entity to which he or she is affiliated. In 2023, Desenbahia had already increased the volume of resources available for financing taxis. R$32.9 million were released through the Protáxi credit line, an increase of 97% compared to 2022, when R$16.7 million were released.

For Desenbahia’s development and business director, Agenor Martinelli, the changes to the Program demonstrate the State Government’s concern with the category and the quality of the service offered to the local population and tourists. “With financing for electric cars, our goal is to make Protáxi grow even more”, says the director.

To obtain more information about the program, taxi drivers should contact the Desenbahia Customer Relations Center at 71 3103-1001.
