A worker died after being buried after an incident in a coal mine in Treviso, in the south of Santa Catarina, this Monday (6). Three other servers were also injured, but were rescued during the morning and are doing well.
According to the Metropolitan Carboniferous, the incident took place underground of the mine. The dead worker was identified as Samuel da Silva Leandro.
In a statement, the coal company explained that the situation was noticed in the early hours of the morning. Since then, The company’s activities were preventively stopped and the site was evacuated. The company’s internal brigade carries out the rescue.
“The priority is to provide assistance to employees and their families. Afterwards, the company begins an internal investigation to determine the causes of the accident. Activities will continue to be suspended for the next 24 hours”, says the statement.
The local Fire Department was called and assisted in the rescue. Rescuers from the 4th Battalion reported, however, that the location is distant, with little signal.

Three employees who were also at the time of the accident were treated and are doing well. The place where the accident occurred was immediately isolated and evacuated due to safety measures.
