A group of 30 indigenous people of different ethnicities held a peaceful demonstration on a section of the Rapidão Rodoanel, on Avenida do Turismo, West Zone of Manaus, this Monday (6). Cars have been stoned by robbers in recent days and they did the act to say that they are not responsible for the attacks.

The peaceful demonstration took place between 9 am and 10 am. The indigenous people closed the road for around 2 minutes to make drivers aware that they were not the ones throwing rocks and also said that they had identified those suspected of committing the crimes.

The community close to the avenue is home to around 500 people from 11 ethnicities.

Driver suffers facial fracture

With the scare, the victim said he almost overturned the vehicle. Also in the report, she says that she suffered a fracture in her face and must now undergo surgery.

Still on social media, there are reports of other cases like the one described by the driver. According to reports, robbers use this practice to get drivers to stop vehicles and suspects to rob these people.

O g1 contacted the Civil Police of Amazonas, which reported that it was aware of the attacks and is investigating the cases with the aim of identifying and arresting those responsible.
