In the early hours of this Monday (6), the PRF (Federal Highway Police) seized more than 1.5 tons of marijuana that was in a stolen vehicle in Mato Grosso do Sul and that was abandoned after an accident in the city of Tibagi, in the interior of Paraná.

Early in the morning, the PRF team was informed about an accident involving a truck. The agents went to the interchange between highways BR-376 and PR-441 where they found a Toyota Hilux SW4 vehicle overturned on the road.

Upon inspecting the vehicle, it was identified that the license plates were false and that the original car had been stolen from the owner in Mato Grosso do Sul. Furthermore, the truck was loaded with 1,562 kilos of marijuana.

The occupant of the vehicle had already fled the scene when the PRF team arrived. No belongings or documents belonging to the suspect were found. The illicit cargo and the vehicle were sent to the Tibagi Civil Police for legal procedures.
