Coach Renato Gaúcho was rescued this Monday due to the floods that hit Porto Alegre and other cities in Rio Grande do Sul. The coach lives in a hotel in the capital and had to evacuate the place. During the rescue, he maintained his characteristic good humor and joked with those involved.

The ge report found details of the search for the coach. According to reports, there were rescues around the hotel where Renato lives, in the north of Porto Alegre, but not exactly for him. The Grêmio idol appeared by chance.

– We started rescuing elderly people, children and pregnant women first. We made two, three trips, then the younger people started. When we were surprised, Renato was there in the middle. Very charismatic, great review, it didn’t even seem like he was in a situation like that – said Luis Francisco da Rosa Sabino, real estate agent and one of those responsible for the rescues.

When Renato appeared among those rescued, someone recognized him and asked if everything was ok. The coach used good humor to respond.

– Not all right. Everything would be fine if you were on the beach, right? – revealed Sabino, in addition to highlighting that Renato took a photo with everyone, always with friendliness.

According to the report, the Grêmio coach wore a life jacket and also played when leaving the boat where he was. Once on land, Renato was picked up by a club employee.

– When it was time to get off the boat, he said “it’s the first time you’ll see me wearing a vest, I’ve always been a starter, those who wear a vest are the people on the bench” – Luis laughed.

In a video reposted by Carol Portaluppi, Renato’s daughter, the trainer appears being rescued. Grêmio continues with its activities suspended at CT Luiz Carvalho, as the place is completely flooded. The latest official note, released by the press office, does not give any prospect of a return to activities.
