The surfer Peter Scooby used social media to share that he is on his way to Rio Grande do Sul. Together with friends, the surfer decided to do voluntary work and help the victims of the heavy rains that hit the state. Among the friends who accepted the initiative is Lucas Chumbo. “I called some friends of mine who ride giant waves with me, they activated other guys too. We managed to gather the best big wave riders in Rio, we are taking jet skis and heading south. Hopefully we arrive in time to be able to help, it’s the least we can do”, he said.

The athlete also remembers that, due to his profession, he is able to help with first aid: “With so many years of surfing and giant waves, we specialize in rescue, first aid and things like that. We have taken many courses and have given courses, so I am available.”

“People are doing it from the heart, putting money out of their own pockets. I wanted to thank everyone who is sending messages. We are already in contact with the rescue team in Rio Grande do Sul. They are already showing us the places that are most in need. At first light, we will be ready to help”, he added. Scooby even confessed that he abandoned some work to carry out this project. “I’m sorry to everyone I punctured this week, but it’s for a greater cause,” he said.

Scooby also shared that his caravan had already arrived in Curitiba and was making a strategic stop in the city to pick up medicine to further help with the rescue work. Pedro showed his friend, doctor Gustavo Nogueira, who helped by donating medicines and blankets. “Doctor Gustavo blew it. He is sending us hygiene products, medicine and a few other things, clothes, blankets, water”, he revealed in the video.

In the last story shared, the surfer recorded that after 20 hours on the road, the convoy of five cars had reached its destination. Scooby and his friends are taking five jet-skis, as well as supplies and medicine.
