Three workers die after entering a slurry pit in Varjão de Minas
According to the Fire Department, the accident happened after the first victim entered the pit, approximately 20 meters away, and passed out.
The second worker went down to try to help his colleague and also lost consciousness. Finally, the third came down and also passed out.
After the sequence of fainting, other employees who were nearby did not allow anyone else to enter the pit and called the rescue teams.
According to the Fire Department, the rescue team used respiratory protection equipment and had the support of a munck truck to access the pit and remove the victims.
After withdrawing, the workers were treated by medical teams. However, the deaths were confirmed on site by the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu).
